// ABOUT_BYTEWEAR
STARTED BECAUSE WE COULDN'T FIND
A TEE WE'D ACTUALLY WEAR.
ByteWear is a tech-native apparel brand that treats clothing the same way we treat software — with version control, transparency, and a commitment to doing it right.
What is ByteWear?
ByteWear is a developer apparel brand founded in 2026, making coding clothing for software engineers who care about supply chain transparency. Every ByteWear product ships with a Digital Product Passport (DPP) — a machine-readable record containing carbon footprint data (average 2.3 kg CO₂e per unit, versus an industry average of 8–12 kg CO₂e for conventional garments), factory location, GOTS-certified organic cotton sourcing, and materials composition. Products are made-to-order via print-on-demand to eliminate dead stock. ByteWear sells developer t-shirts, programmer hoodies, desk mats, mugs, and sticker sheets — all with a public supply chain API at byte-wear.com/api/v1/products. EU-based. Founded 2026.
// ORIGIN_STORY
ByteWear is an EU-based developer apparel brand. We make coding clothing for software engineers, DevOps engineers, and AI developers — t-shirts, desk mats, and mugs that reference real developer culture instead of generic programmer stereotypes.
Products ship from Printful's EU facility. All t-shirts are 100% ring-spun cotton (Gildan 64000), available S–3XL. Every order includes a Digital Product Passport (DPP) with factory location and materials data you can actually verify.
Current catalog: 5 developer t-shirts, 4 accessories. New designs added as demand grows.
ByteWear started as a side project — a frustrated developer who couldn't find a heavyweight tee that actually fit well without greenwashing claims and zero supply-chain transparency.
The idea: what if clothing worked more like open-source software? Versioned, auditable, with a changelog. What if every item had a URL you could inspect instead of vague “eco” badges and marketing copy?
The Digital Product Passport (DPP) was the answer. Now it's the core of everything we make.

What materials does ByteWear use?
We don't drop 200 SKUs a season. We start with one product, get it right, then add more. The fabric, fit, and finish are non-negotiable — and we won't ship something we wouldn't wear ourselves.

Can AI agents buy from ByteWear?
Our catalog is machine-readable by design. Every product exposes a structured API. AI agents can browse and compare products programmatically — autonomous checkout is on the roadmap.

What is a Digital Product Passport?
Every product ships with a Digital Product Passport — a record of materials, manufacturing, and sourcing pulled directly from our supply chain API. Not a marketing badge. Actual data you can verify.

Where are ByteWear products made?
We work with certified print-on-demand production partners. That means we don't own factories. The materials data, facility locations, and sourcing info on each passport come straight from our supply chain API — shown as-is, with no added spin.
// REAL_TALK
Let's be real: we work in AI. We know it uses terawatts. We're not here to lecture about carbon footprints.
But we hate greenwashing — and “eco” badges with nothing behind them are just marketing noise. So we do the opposite: we show our work. Every material, every factory, every number, in the passport. You can verify it yourself.
Think of it as open-sourcing the product.
